Intended use:

The LEDX Lights Viper Kit 38 Wh is designed for outdoor athletes and demanding users who need more than a bright spot in the dark. It is particularly suited to technical trail running, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and orienteering, activities where long-range visibility must work together with peripheral awareness and clear illumination of the terrain immediately ahead. Its balanced beam helps users see approaching turns, read uneven ground and identify obstacles in front of their feet, skis or front wheel.

The all-on-head system keeps both the lamp and battery on the head, removing the need for a separate battery belt or a cable routed to a backpack. The rounded battery sits close to the back of the head, supporting balanced carrying comfort and freedom of movement. Viper is intended for year-round activity, from early-morning training and evening adventures to the extended darkness of autumn and winter. Its compact format also suits professional users who need powerful, hands-free lighting in demanding environments.

Product USP:

Viper’s defining strength is not simply how much light it produces, but where that light goes. LEDX’s X-pand technology combines a lens for long-range visibility with a reflector that provides an exceptionally wide beam pattern. Together, they create a smooth, balanced field of light without abrupt transitions or hard edges. The ground immediately in front of the wearer remains illuminated even when the lamp is aimed straight ahead, allowing near-field visibility and distance vision to work together rather than compete. With the 38 Wh battery, Viper delivers 2,200 lumen at its highest standard setting and up to 2,700 lumen in boost mode. The lamp itself weighs just 85 g, while the complete system, including lamp, headgear and battery, weighs 330 g. This brings powerful illumination into a compact all-on-head format. A dedicated red LED, available in steady and pulsing modes, helps preserve dark adaptation when white light is unnecessary.

Approach to extend the product lifecycle:

LEDX approaches Viper as a system that can be maintained over time, rather than replaced as a single unit. The lamp, battery and headgear and attachments are separate components, and individual lamps, batteries, headgear, mounts and cables are available separately. A worn headband or a battery that needs replacing therefore does not require the owner to discard an otherwise functioning system.

When a lamp develops a fault, LEDX provides a direct service and repair route. Owners can submit a service request describing the problem, supported by photographs, so that LEDX can assess the product and arrange appropriate service or repair. This gives users practical support for keeping existing equipment in use.

Returned lamps suitable for continued use are serviced, cleaned and repaired as required, then offered as second-hand products graded by condition. This combines an incentive to return older equipment with a route back into active use.
