Our tester praised the perfect hold of the foot and the super grippy sole while running and hiking in the mountains over steep, muddy and rocky terrain. The Viking Anaconda Trail BOA GTX trailrunning- and hiking shoe is also very comfortable and easy to adjust due to the Boa-System Lacing. The fabrics contain up to 50 percent recycled material and the Gore-Tex membrane keeps the feet dry. This underlines that over time, proven designs can be made better and more sustainable.

Getting back to their adventurous roots, Tenson recently returned to Everest Base Camp to commemorate the Tenson-sponsored Japanese Mount Everest Expedition in the winter of 1981. The expedition, which saw two members of his team reach Everest’s summit, was led by legendary adventurer Naomi Uemura. Then a Tenson ambassador, Uemura is recognized as the first man to reach the North Pole solo, the first man to raft the Amazon solo, and the first man to climb Denali solo – in the winter. This pack is packed with incredibly useful features. The two soft 500 ml Norrøna soft flasks included can be easily stored in the easy to reach front pouches. Norrøna are working towards becoming a 100% responsible company and openly share their efforts and progress through their roadmap updated and available on their website. Norrøna removed all long-chain fluorocarbons from the products several years ago – before the legal demand in 2013. This product is PFC-free DWR and the goal to use entirely sustainable fabrics in the making of this product was met. Norrøna utilize a circular business model – reduction, reuse, recycle, material-degradation, and waste recovery – with all of their products, including the nominated pack. In addition, they have a repair center at their headquarters where products can be sent in (as well as in many of our stores ) in an ongoing attempt to prolong the life of their products post-purchase. PFC-free DWR, bluesign approved, 3rd party verified, all material origins can be provided through their open factory list.

Solar-powered wildlife conservation and improved anti-poaching efforts: For years, poaching has had devastating consequences for all wildlife. In some instances, it’s the primary reason why many species now face the risk of extinction. Recently, anti-poaching teams have started using dirt bikes for patrolling, as it’s considered the fastest and most agile vessel to use in the wild. However, these bikes run on fuel, a scarce resource in the region that is expensive to transport in the remote areas. The combustion engine bikes also alert illegal poachers miles away with their noisy engines.

The bike is designed so that it is easily dismantled/disassembled.

No odour-additives in the material, and no softeners required when washing to cover the smell of the garment. Oeko-Tex certified to ensure no harmful substances. Wool is a fibre with fantastic properties for the outdoors, and Aclima aim to replace plastic based fibre with wool where possible. Aclima garments must have purpose, function, durability and multiple uses. Aclima source the wool themselves, and work closely with the whole supply chain to follow the wool and production.
