PRODUCT USP
This is a concept consisting of baselayers in 100% Merino wool, knitted in a three col/thread jacquard patterns. The jacquard-knit pattern has the unique trait, that the two sides of the fabric can look completely different ¬– but still contain all the same fantastic benefits from the wool fiber. As Kvitegga is developed for cold and harsh weather, using three thread in the Jaquard-knit, this is a super-soft fabric containing a million microscopic air pockets, that will give an optimal insulation garment. As the goal of Devold is to reduce consumption and the over-use of natural resources, they have designed a garment that can be used on both sides. Already the wool needs less wash. And simply by flipping the shirt inside-out – you get a totally new shirt!

FUN FACTS
The names that Devold use in their collections are from the Sunnmøre, where Devold has its origins, and where the head office is still located. Kvitegga is a mountain peak in the Sunnmøre Alps.
The development of the Kvitegga concept started two years ago, in 2018. The designers had already talked about using the Jaquard-knit benefits, as the fabric has no inside or outside, only different sides. For the AW2020 collection they developed a small program for man and for woman. Unfortunately, the program was plucked a part, and only the shirts remained in the collection. The result was that the sell-in numbers were too low, and all was dropped. It could have ended there. But, since the designers believed so strongly in the idea of using ALL the benefits in the Jaquard-knit structure in wool, they started developing a new program, still the same idea, only much bigger and containing more garments. So far it has been very well received…
