The combination of sustainability and winter protection. Riekko Recycled is made from recycled woollen felt, carbon neutral Terracare leather and PFC-free Gore-Tex ePE. The sustainability credentials of Riekko are further enhanced with European production, close to the main European consumer markets – keeping the carbon footprint to a minimum.

FUN FACTS OR BACKSTORY?
It’s a fun (or not so fun) fact that yearly, ~20,000 Finns slip and injure themselves between January and March. It costs insurance companies €50 million yearly for compensation claims from workers slipping and falling on their way to and from the office. Felt boots have been made since the 19th century in Finland. Pomar updated the traditional Finnish felt boot, a winter classic, with modern technical features and a clean Nordic look. The Riekko recycled is designed for comfort in harsh Nordic climates and a modern lifestyle.
Finns and those with a Northen climate often need to use spikes daily as melting snow freezes and pavements, doorways and stairs become slippery and hazardous. Pomar made spike shoes to solve this problem. The Riekko Recycled spike boot is an extension of our Fennia Award winning Pomar Felt Boots collection. A sustainable lightweight spike boot, insulated, waterproof and breathable – which offers total confidence in icy conditions.
